"Daisey & Dolley"
Delmarva's Own Certified Bed Bug Detection Dogs

Daisey is Delmarva's own certified bed bug sniffing canine. Daisey was certified by American Canine Scent Detection. Before joining the LBPM team, she went through rigorous training -- totaling 600 hours -- in Maryland to become one of the best bed bug sniffing dogs on the East Coast. Even the most experienced human detector will have trouble finding bed bugs. They are considered to be one of the most challenging pests to find and control. This is why having a bed bug sniffing dog is so important to a successful extermination.  Partner, Dolley will be testing for her first certification in early February 2012.

Daisey & Dolley work with Ladybug Pest Management in Delmar, Delaware.   They both have been trained to sniff out bed bugs wherever they may be located. Usually, bed bugs nest in any soft material. However, they can nest anywhere in a room. The name "bed bug" derives from the fact that they traditionally nest in beds or any other soft materials where people sleep. They can also nest in untraditional areas, such as back seat cushions or seats in a movie theater. It is Daisey's job to find all the nesting areas of bed bugs, whether they are traditional or untraditional. She sniffs them out, just like a bomb sniffing dog would.  Dolley will confirm Daisey's alert.  This 2 team protocol has been a huge success for the Ladybug Canine Inspection Service.

Testimonials

Marie from Wilmington, DE says:

“I am a homeowner who had the misfortune of an introductory bedbug infestation. Sandy, Frank and Daisey came to the rescue with true professionalism including education, K-9 and visual investigations as well as step-by-step solutions to rid our family of this surprising situation. I don’t know what I would have done without the communication, sincere empathy and reassurance I received from Sandy and Frank. When Daisey came in and gave us the “all clear” I was able to sleep again without worry. I not only recommend LadyBug to anyone battling Bedbugs or any other pest issue, I wouldn’t consider using anyone else."

Mike & Trish Keeler, Princess Anne, MD. says:

"Just want to say what a FABULOUS job you did with the recent pest treatment at our home. Frank is very knowledgeable, explained everything, answered our questions and went "above & beyond" with treatment. The cost was reasonable and well worth the service we received!! We are so pleased that we have scheduled a follow-up call (in the fall) and plan on using you for ALL future needs. Thanks for a job well done! Also, the "welcome" package" was an unexpected treat and I really appreciated it :-) !!!!!"

Frank Hamilton, Salisbury MD. says:

"I was very pleased with the quick response I received from Ladybug, I had received a couple of other quotes from the "Big Guys" and thought they were outrageous. Frank Honess came out the next day, did a thorough inspection and provided an estimate cheaper than his competitors. I was a little skeptical, but he not only delivered as promised (compared to my neighbor who went with one of the "Big Guys") he went above and beyond with customer service. I would easily recommend Frank and Ladybug Pest Management to everyone. Thanks for the great job!"

Sandy Becker, Delmar, DE. says:
"I’ve known Frank for 26 years. He has done several jobs around my home. He is very efficient & goes way beyond getting the job done. No matter what, if he says he will be there, he’s there. I’ve always been impressed with his business manner. He is very professional. I have always been very satisfied with his work. He is a good & honest man."

R. Joseph Gore, D.D.S. Salisbury, MD. says:

Cockroaches

Cockroaches are pests throughout the United States. They are annoying and, when abundant, they are also destructive. Cockroaches, also known as waterbugs, croton bugs, or palmetto bugs, destroy food and damage fabrics, book bindings, and other materials.

Termites
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Due to their wood-eating habits, termites can do great damage to homes and other wooden structures. Their habit of remaining concealed often results in their presence being undetected until severe damaged is done. Once termites have entered a building, they do not limit themselves to wood; they also damage paper, cloth, carpets and more.

Ants

Ants are pests around the home because they feed on and contaminate human foods, infest structures, and build unsightly mounds in lawns. In some cases, ants are able to inflict painful bites or stings. Ants do not attack or eat fabrics, leather or wood in houses; however, some species can establish nests in decaying wood in structures.

Bedbugs
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
This insect has a famous history as a bloodsucker and is named due to its tendency to feed on a bed’s occupants at night. The bed bug primarily attacks humans but can feed on any warm blooded animal such as birds, mice, and pets. The bed bug is found worldwide and probably Adults are just under a 1/4” long and are relatively flat, nearly as wide as long, and oval in shape compared to most other insects. The color is brown to reddish brown.

Spiders

Black Widow

Black widow spiders are most recognized for the red hourglass shape on the back. Contrary to legend, female black widow spiders rarely devour the male black widow spider after mating. Black widow spiders spin their webs near ground level. They often build their webs in protected areas, such as in boxes and in firewood. Black widow spiders are often found around wood piles and gain entry into a structure when firewood is carried into a building. They are also found under eaves, in boxes, and other areas where they are undisturbed.

Threats
The venom of a black widow spider is a neurotoxin and is used as a defense. Black widow spiders do not bite humans instinctively. The black widow spider bite can cause severe pain. Young children and the elderly are especially susceptible to a severe reaction to a black widow spider bite.

Brown Recluse

Brown recluse spiders have a characteristic dark brown violin marking on their back. Brown recluse spiders are nocturnal and eat other bugs like cockroaches and crickets. Male brown recluse spiders wander farther than females and will crawl into shoes or other clothing.

Brown recluse spiders often live outdoors in debris and wood piles. They can be found indoors in storage areas and dark recesses.

Threats
Like the black widow spider, the brown recluse spider bites in defense and does not bite humans instinctively. They will bite humans when the clothing they are hiding in is worn. The brown recluse spider bite is painful and can produce an open, ulcerating sore.

Brown Recluse Spiders can be found in TX, LA, AR, OK, MO, KS, NE, IA, MO, IL, IN, OH, KY, TN, MS, AL, GA.

Prevention
To avoid brown recluse spiders, avoid keeping clothing on the floor. Store clothing and shoes inside plastic containers, and shake out all clothing that has been in a hamper before wearing or washing.
